The Żabka Group is in full solidarity with the Ukrainian community. Many Ukrainian citizens are our employees, franchisees, or their associates and we have immediately declared our readiness to provide them with the necessary assistance. We are taking steps to provide support to those personally affected by the war in Ukraine.
#StandwithUkraine
Since the first hours of the tragic events in Ukraine, our community – employees, franchisees, and co-workers – have expressed solidarity with our neighbors.
Consultation Points for employees
In solidarity with the Ukrainian community, we have decided to finance the rental of apartments for the families of our employees, co-workers and franchisees who bring their families to Poland. At the same time we organize transport for families of workers from the border to places of stay in Poland. We will also subsidize the costs of renting apartments for refugees from Ukraine. Families also receive start-up packages – with basic food and hygiene products.
In providing additional assistance in the logistics centers, we have set up consultancy points which serve the employees of Żabka, the employees of mixing companies and transport companies, as well as franchisees. The aim of the points is to provide information about the support offered by Żabka in the scope of, among others psychological and legal assistance, logistical and material support in transporting people from the Polish-Ukrainian border, searching for and financing housing and obtaining information on the needs of people requiring support, both in terms of knowledge and specific material, legal or logistical assistance.
As a result of the considerable interest in legal support, we have launched a special legal helpline. The hotline handles only issues related to the situation in Ukraine and is intended for employees, co-workers and franchisees as well as employees of the Żabka shops.
At the same time, we provide psychological support to all franchisees and sellers in need. We have also been involved in the search for psychologists who could help families on the ground.
Humanitarian aid
Many of Ukraine’s citizens are our workers, franchisees, or their associates, and we have therefore declared our readiness to provide the necessary assistance, and we are taking numerous measures to provide support to those personally affected by Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
We provide financial and material support to the Polish Red Cross and the Polish Center for International Aid Foundation. We have donated food and necessary hygiene products in cooperation with partners: the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Office, Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, Polish Red Cross and UNGC. Our help has reached, among others. such places as: the crisis headquarters point of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Office in Korczowa, border crossings Hrebenne-Rawa Ruska, Dolhobyczów-Uhryniw, Zosin and Dorohusk, as well as the railway stations in Przemyśl and Warsaw. We have also sent assistance to the civilian population in Ukraine, which will be delivered, among other things, to Lutsk, Kyiv, and Dnieper.
Corporate Volounteering Programme
As a responsible organization, we want to encourage and give space to help because we believe that together we can do more! Therefore, listening to the appeals of the aid organizations and also implementing the principles of our strategy, we have launched a program of corporate volunteering related to the situation in Ukraine. Employees will be able, among others to work for the benefit of the NGOs cooperating with us, as well as help in the support and coordination of the collection of gifts in the building of the Headquarters of our company.
Engaged Customers
In more than 8000 Żabka stores, everyone can financially support the activities of the Polish Humanitarian Action and the Polish Red Cross using card or proximity payment – with a watch or phone. The donations collected in this way will be divided equally between the two charities and support their humanitarian efforts in the face of the war in Ukraine. To donate one must come to the store, at the checkout declare the amount benefiting the organization and make the payment electronically, without having to make purchases.
Engaged Brands
Packages delivered to refugees included among others nutritious and rich in ingredients Tomcio Paluch sandwiches. They are based on good quality bread – both bright and with grains, and each Tomcio Paluch sandwich keeps fresh thanks to its sealed packaging, which makes sure that all donated sandwiches reach the refugees and will be used.
The refugees also received from us ready meals and delicious soups of the Shamamm private label, which can be heated and eaten on the spot in the form of a warm, homemade lunch.
We also gave nutritious Haps snacks: nuts, fruit mixes, and sweet and salty nut-fruit mixes. For drinking the refugees received the water of the OD NOWA private label from the „Anna” source in the Muszyna spa in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
Jobs for Ukrainian refugees
The Żabka Group offers help in finding work for the citizens of Ukraine. For this purpose, we have created the www.praca.zabka.pl platform, through which people interested in taking up work in our organization can fill out an application form or respond to the advertisement posted on the website. The Call Center will conduct an in-depth interview with the candidates and match the job offer to their qualifications and place of residence.
For refugees from Ukraine, we offer work in Żabka headquarters in the IT department and in Logistics Centers belonging to us, where we are looking for drivers, forklift operators, or controllers. We are going to systematically add more announcements. Soon, the platform will include job offers in the stores of our network, posted by Żabka franchisees. Shortly, we will also look for employees of companies belonging to us, such as Maczfit (production workers, transport) and Lite (assembly, transport).
The positions we offer are accompanied by full care – refugees from Ukraine are helped among others to rent a flat. We also provide food vouchers, a cultural assistant and Polish language learning.

Commercial activities
Due to the current situation, economic instruments are becoming a key means for the international community to oppose Russian aggression against Ukraine. With this in mind, we have decided to suspend the procurement of products originating in the Russian Federation and Belarus. As a result, marketing communications related to these products will also be withdrawn.
Users of the Żappka application can support Ukraine
Żabka once again engages users of its mobile application in charitable activities. Since March 9 this year people using the Żappka application have had the opportunity to convert loyalty points collected during purchases, so-called żapps, into charity bricks. The total amount of bricks donated by the customers will be credited to the accounts of organizations carrying out humanitarian operations related to the war in Ukraine. The action lasts until March 22.
To buy a charity brick, you only need to activate it using the proper amount of żapps. You can choose six bricks with the value of:
50 żapps = PLN 0.5,
100 żapps = PLN 1,
400 żapps = PLN 5,
800 żapps = PLN 10,
1000 żapps = PLN 12,
1200 żapps = PLN 15.
All the money from the charity bricks provided by the users of the Żappka application will be donated to help the citizens of Ukraine.
Customers who have points in the Żappka application can donate them to support Ukraine until March 22 this year. Each user can use up to three bricks of a given denomination. Just install the mobile app to help. The first, symbolic żapps the users receive already at the start, and the next points they collect during every purchase, after scanning the code from their Żappka app.
The app is available for free on Google Play, Apple App Store, and Huawei AppGallery. Just download it to your smartphone, register an account and enjoy the benefits it gives.
This is another time when Żabka engages users of the Żappka app in charity activities. For several years they have had the opportunity to support fundraisers during the finals of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. In April 2020, the company also engaged customers in a pandemic relief effort in 16 regional isolation hospitals. More than 248,000 application users were involved. Millions of żapps provided by them converted into zlotys and doubled by Żabka Polska, allowed to raise 3 million zlotys, and the funds provided to medical institutions were allocated for the purchase of medical equipment for the treatment of patients with COVID-19.
